Megaline FAQs

The Megaline is part of the thermally-insulated system of Solarlux bi-folding doors and can achieve a U value of 0.9 W/m2K. U values show how good a door or window is at preventing heat from transferring from indoors to outside. The lower the U value, the more successful it is.

Solarlux bi-folds are so thermally efficient for a number of reasons, including advanced technology, high performance glazing and features specially designed and patented by the company. One of these is the bionicTURTLE®, pictured here, a multi-functional break profile housing the locking mechanism and fittings that create the outstanding insulation properties of the bi-fold door range. As standard, we also use special fixing brackets which spread the weight of the fixing onto the frame across the thermal break.

All Solarlux bi-folding doors can be customised to your own aesthetic and practical requirements.

Choose from wide range of colours for the aluminium frame of the Megaline, including 30 different shades from the main collection (pictured). Qualicoat Seaside paint is used as standard, and other treatments are available for harsher or coastal environments to enhance durability and ensure against corrosion.

The Megaline can also be combined with other Solarlux glass products including other bi-folding doors, sliding doors, fixed windows, and tilt-and-turn panels. These can all be specified in the same colour for a sleek, uniform look.

The Megaline offers a moveable glazing solution for large and complex architectural projects where previously only oversized sliding doors were suitable.
