All Solarlux glazing systems that use timber are sourced and processed in as sustainable a manner as possible.

In everything the company does, Solarlux aims to minimise its enivonmental impact. It ensures that all woods are FSC® or PEFC certified, meaning they come from forestry that is socially beneficial and uses environmentally conscious production processes. Some woods also carry the Chain of Custody (COC) mark, which shows they can be traced right back to their source.

And it doesn't stop there. The cutting-edge production plant at the Solarlux headquarters in Germany is leading the way in sustainable manufacturing processes, such as recycling water and heat, and using water-based varnishes.

Using wood in your home adds warmth and softness. Every piece of wood is individual in appearance, creating unique, inspirational spaces to suit any property or design style.

Aside from aesthetics, wood's natural qualities can also work in your home to absorb and release air humidity and save on energy.

We have a showroom at our Leeds premises where you can view a range of Solarlux glazing systems.

The SL178 is not on display, but a very similar door can be viewed instead - the SL179 composite sliding door.

These two sliding doors share many of the same features, but the SL179 is made from wood and aluminium, while the SL178 is purely wood.

The SL179 that is on display in Leeds is pretty large at 3700mm wide and 3246mm high. It has multi-laminated wood profiles in laminated spruce, which would be similar on the SL178, and features a soft close safety device.
